Pistols to Hall: "Never mind..."

Punk pioneers post a message on their Web site that essentially tells Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to stick the band's induction where the sun won't shine.

It's safe to say that the Sex Pistols will not be attending next month's Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, at which they are to be inducted along with Black Sabbath, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Miles Davis, Blondie, Herb Alpert, and record exec Jerry Moss.

In a hand-written and rather disjointed note on its Web site, the long-defunct band said it was officially declining the invitation to attend.

"Next to the Sex Pistols, rock and roll and that hall of fame is a piss stain," the post read. "Your museum. Urine is wine. We're not coming. We're not your monkey and so what?"

The post ridiculed Hall of Fame voters as "music industry people," and complained about the high price of attending the exclusive March 13 event in NYC--$25,000 for a table, $15,000 for a seat in the gallery--going "to a non-profit organization selling us a load of old famous."

"If you voted for us, hope you noted your reasons," the post continued. "Your [sic] anonymous as judges, but your [sic] still music industry people. We're not coming. You're not paying attention. Outside the sh**-stem is a real Sex Pistol."

So there.
