Aerosmith, Mötley Crüe to tour
"Route of All Evil" tour promises plenty of old hits, a 70-foot-long ramp, and a new batch of pyrotechnics.
With a promise to rock bigger, louder, faster, and harder, two of the most frizzed-out bands in rock history are teaming up for a North American tour this fall.

The Crüe
Aerosmith and Mötley Crüe unveiled today the 27-date "Route of All Evil" tour, which kicks off September 14 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, New Jersey, and takes the two aging hard rock bands to mostly outdoor venues. The tour concludes November 24 at the Sound Advice Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida.
This will be the first time the two bands have toured together. Both bands will feature all their original members.
The Aerosmith sets will center on a 70-foot-long, catwalk-like ramp for Steven Tyler to prance around on, extending from the stage into the middle of the arena, giving fans an up-close-and-personal experience.
The Crüe performances promise pyrotechnics that were not seen on the band's 2005 Carnival of Sins tour. Drummer Tommy Lee was injured last year when a botched pyrotechnics stunt sent sparks flying at him as he swung on a wire between two drum sets.
The first batch of shows will go on sale Saturday, with the Holmdel, New Jersey, and Jones Beach, New York, shows going on sale June 26. Sale dates for tickets for the rest of the shows are TBA.
