The Streets picks new single
On first song off The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living, Brit rapper tells of his pursuit of a celebrity love.
For the third time in six years, The Streets is looking to push things forward.
Geezer-loving Brit rapper Mike Skinner is set to release his third album, The Hardest Way To Make An Easy Living, on April 10, and revealed today the first single off the album.
The first track off Living will be "When You Wasn't Famous," a song that tells "the true story of [Mike] Skinner's pursuit of a celebrity girl that put him right back to square one of the dating game," according to press materials for the single.
The single will be released March 27.
Skinner recently told NME.com that the new album "isn't a narrative. But to be honest I don't think I could write an album without feeling like there are plots going on. Actually this album is a true story."
"After A Grand Don't Come For Free, I was like, 'What am I going to write about?' I can't moan I've got no money any more, but then it gradually dawned on me that my life is so crazy!" he continued. "You'd never believe some of the stuff that's happened to me along the way in countries far away."
The Streets will play a series of UK dates later this week.
