50 covers "London Bridge"
If the swarm of not-so-subtle sexual innuendo on Fergie's "London Bridge" wasn't enough for you, 50 Cent has joined the party. The beefcake multiplatinum rapper has recorded a remix of the Black Eyed Peas singer's "London Bridge" and leaked the song online today. The first half of the track features 50 rapping lines like "I don't know which one I'm gonna pick" and "if it's good I'll be done quick" over a gunshot-laden "London Bridge." The second half features Fergie's vocals from the original, with 50 singing the chorus.
Simpson, Mayer reportedly dating

Pop star Jessica Simpson and adult contemporary rocker John Mayer are dating, according to Us Weekly magazine. The pop starlet, forced this week to cancel several appearances to promote her new album, A Public Affair, because of laryngitis, reveals her relationship with Mayer in the magazine's latest issue. In an odd twist, Mayer canceled his concert Saturday in Connecticut because of laryngitis. Us Weekly quotes Simpson as saying that Mayer was great and that she wanted to "keep it private." Simpson recently revealed during a Texas radio interview that she had already heard Mayer's new album, Continuum, which is not due in stores until September 12. Mayer lives in New York City, and Simpson will reportedly attend his concert tonight in Jones Beach, New York.
Ticketmaster invalidates Streisand tickets

Ticketmaster has invalidated more than 1,000 tickets to concerts in Barbra Streisand's upcoming national tour following a discovery by tour organizers that they had been purchased with a stolen credit card and then resold on the Internet. The ticket giant said it would notify those who purchased the resold tickets via e-mail if possible but said on its Web site that fans holding the canceled tickets would not be admitted to the concerts. The illegally purchased tickets were for shows in Philadelphia; New York; Washington; Sunrise, Florida; Auburn Hills, Michigan; Chicago; Atlanta; Las Vegas; and Atlantic City, New Jersey. "It is a serious violation of the law to try to buy concert tickets using stolen credit card information and, when successful, to resell those tickets to unknowing consumer victims through resale Web sites," Ticketmaster president Sean Moriarty said in a statement. Streisand's 19-show tour starts in Philadelphia on October 4, with face-value ticket prices as high as $750.

The publicist for R&B singer Ne-Yo lashed out today at rumors that he plans to come out in the October issue of Essence magazine. Online reports had focused on an alleged interview Ne-Yo did with Barbra Stradoff for Essence in which he admits that he's gay, but a Def Jam spokesperson told MTV News, "It's completely false. There isn't a staff member by that name at Essence, nor is Ne-Yo going to be featured in the October issue of the magazine."
Taylor Hicks, producer settle lawsuit

American Idol champ Taylor Hicks has regained full ownership of recordings he made prior to winning the reality show competition. In a deal that settles a lawsuit Hicks brought against producer William Smith earlier this month, Hicks gained possession of the master recordings of the songs. In exchange, Hicks agreed not to pursue further court action against Smith, who recorded Hicks several years ago and recently placed some of the songs on iTunes for sale. No money changed hands under the agreement.
